"Child is the father of the man."

Today I am recollecting these lines from the poem, "My Heart Leaps Up," by "William Wordsworth." In every human being, a child resides and helps him or her to discover and appreciate the beauty present in this world. Another fact is that the child follows what his or her parents do. Children are just like those plants which grow under the shade of their parents or caretakers and follow their footsteps.

Now-a-days, we are busy with our lives, part of which is being heavily spent on digital technology or media gadgets. In the USA, millions of people are using gadgets like the iPad and the number is increasing day by day. A child is going to follow, what we adults have started. The question is, whether it is really ok to let the child or toddler or a teen spend time with any digital electronic device like the iPad, computer, cellphone or TV for hours.

At such a young age, shouldn't parents show some more responsibility to avoid such a dose of technology addiction. Some might disagree but, The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that a kid, not be allowed to watch television who is under the age 2. These modern devices are also gradually becoming part of the toddlers just like it became ours. Instead of playing with toys, kids are getting into iPad and other devices like smartphones, iPods etc.

The future implications on the toddler or any child would be observed in relation to the development of their intellectual prowess. Are such digital addictions good or bad for the kids ? To know more, watch this video here.
